Why does Mobile Pet Grooming cost more than going to a salon?
We work for ourselves and have to pay for such things as fuel and repairs to keep the grooming van on the road, insurance, propane to heat the water and the grooming area during the winter, vehicle registration & inspection, plus numerous other costs before we can even pay ourselves.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Most appointments are scheduled several weeks in advance.
What is the average wait time for an appointment?
The average wait time for an appointment can be three to four weeks at a minimum for grooming.
How much will it cost to get my pet groomed?
The cost depends on the type and breed of your pet as well as the services performed. The cost will also depend on the condition of your pet’s coat and how you’re pet behaves in our mobile grooming van.
Why aren’t your grooming prices listed on your website?
This is due to the large number of breeds for both cats and dogs. We can give you an estimate over the phone, this however can vary once we meet your pet and determine the condition of your pet’s coat.
Why would the price vary between the time I call and when I get my pet groomed?
This, again, will depend on the condition of your pet’s coat and how they behave while being groomed.
Where will my pet be groomed?
Your pet will be groomed in our mobile grooming van, which we will park either in your driveway or on the street in front of your home. There may be times when we must park a short distance down the street, this will based on the availability of parking in front of and near your home. Normally, if we must park somewhere away from your home, it will be a very short walk away from your home.
Can I bring my pet to you?
No. Our services are designed so that we come to your home or office to care for your pets. We find that pets are more comfortable when they are cared for on or near your home and their normal environment.
Can I stay with my pet while they are being groomed?
No. This is mainly due to insurance and safety reasons. Also, our van has limited space. If we need your assistance during the grooming process we will let you know.
How many groomers do you have?
One. Jenny herself is our only groomer.
I saw Jenny’s husband David on the About Us page of your web site, doesn’t he groom pets also?
Not at this time, David is currently being trained to groom pets. His
areas of responsibility are a number of
behind-the-scenes duties related to the smooth running of our business.
Are there times when you will be closed?
Yes, there are normally two weekends per year (both lasting several days) so that we can attend trade shows. While we are at the trade shows we will be purchasing supplies and attending training classes to learn new techniques and ideas of how to serve you better. We also will be closed one or two weeks per year for vacation. During one or both weeks we are on vacation our grooming van will be taken to our repair facility for servicing and any needed repairs for the duration of our vacation.an
Are you closed for major holidays?
Yes, we are closed for New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
What areas do you serve?
We have relocated to Summerdale, Alabama and will open in the fall of 2017!
Do you go outside of ten miles from your home base?
Yes, to an extent. There is a surcharge of one dollar ($1) per mile up to fifteen miles to cover the cost of fuel. This will apply only to those outside of our ten mile radius up to fifteen miles from our home base. This will be suspended on a temporary basis until we reopen in Summerdale, AL.
I tried to call for information or to schedule an appointment and did not get an answer, why?
Under normal circumstances we are on the road during the day and unable to answer calls as they come since we are either driving or with a client’s pet. Calls are normally returned at the end of the day. When calling, please leave your name, phone number, address, and brief message explaining the services you wish to receive.
What if I send an e-mail? When will e-mails be answered?
E-mails are also answered at the end of the day.
Why can’t phone calls or e-mails be answered right away?
Jenny herself handles all phone calls, e-mails, and form submission inquiries herself in regards to services, whether it is to schedule an appointment or requests for information about services. During the normal course of the day she is busy grooming our current client’s pets or travelling from one grooming appointment to another.
What if I want to submit a form submission through your web site?
These are also responded to at the end of the day. All
form submissions are forwarded to our business e-mail of Jennifer@jennysmobilepetservice.com and will be responded from this e-mail address in most cases.
